I did not get a full analysis of my xray. I had to poke and prod for answers about my condition and got very little. They put me in this weighted boot with straps that made it hurt worse. I took it off as soon as I got in the car. I had to do my own research online on the over the counter meds that eased inflammation. I’ve made an appointment with another doctor so that I can get a treatment plan and full explanation about my condition and what lies ahead. Beyond the xray I found this whole visit a total waste of my time.
Not only did this doctor give me bad advice and an apprehensive assessment on an injury, but he actually told me exercises to do that worsened my condition and made my pain and swelling worse. I was referred to this doctor as a specialist, but he didn't even listen to me about how I injured myself or where it hurt. I went to NYC for a second opinion and they found a torn ligament that was the cause of all my pain, swelling and why it was slow to heal. Doctors, listen to your patients and investigate the real answers, please.
Visited orthopedic associates in Poughkeepsie where the nurse ordered wrong X-rays (of my ankle not my foot like I had indicated on all 8 pages of paperwork I had to fill out prior). Dr Shen then spent 3 minutes with me where he promptly stated I ‘likely’ had a strained tendon OR hairline fracture but he wasn’t sure because we didn’t have proper X-rays and there was nothing to treat the injury regardless so proper X-rays weren’t necessary. I broke my ankle in 3 places. I am walking without any problems or assistance of any kind. I'm so grateful to you all! Thank you Dr. Wen Shen for wonderful service and work.
I'll give the staff 5 stars. He doesn't even deserve one star. I had a 5 minute exam with no information about my condition or a treatment plan. He has NO bedside manner at all, which is putting it politely.
Dr. Shen is a wonderful surgeon who answered any question I had. I find him kind compassionate and had me laughing before my surgery which helped me because I was scared. The staff are also wonderful. Thank you.
Dr. Shen is a pleasant young man who showed an interest in my problem and took the time to ask and answer a lot of questions. Dr. Shen discussed in detail my X-rays and possible solutions to the problem. He is definitely an exception to today's rushed medical encounters.
Do not recommend. Appointments ran an hour a behind. I saw him for maybe 3-5 minutes. Did not listen, instead cut me off and gave me horrible advice that actually caused more pain. Not what I would expect from the orthopedic associates of Dutchess county. I found his knowledge on my Injury to be lacking and his “bed side manner” to be awful. I got a second opinion and found his knowledge and recommendations to be wrong. Just overall he didn’t care about me his patient.
Dr. Shen saw my husband at the Walk-In Orthopedic Clinic in Kingston. After a very cursory exam (2 or 3 minutes) Dr. Shen told my husband that his proximal fracture of the humerus "would heal on it's own". Which is medically impossible - so we asked to see the X-Ray taken at the ER the day before. Shen got angry, but showed us the X-Ray with a look of disgust on his face.
