Left this place more traumatized than when I went in. The process from the beginning feels like they care, but once you get to the actual inpatient area the facade slips away. Witnessed certain staff members be unkind to me and others. The only time you will get "care" is from a half listening psychiatrist who talks to you for a few minutes and then blows you off. The "group activities" are inconsistent and unorganized. Would not recommend Wellstone for anyone going through a rough time.
Terrible. Would never recommend. I was there for 6 hours before seeing a nurse, doctor, therapist....anyone! I was admitted and there was zero structure. Meds, breakfast, sleep, snack, sleep, lunch, sleep, snack , sleep, dinner, sleep, meds,sleep. Saw an actual Dr for around 5 min total , two times in the five days I was there. Staff was rude. Complete disaster.
The best they did to "help" was just lock me up and I only got to talk to someone for help once or twice. I had to read or watch movies there to pass the time.
This place was “ok” in the beginning (2021) but it’s gone down hill tremendously since then. The staff like to talk down to the emotionally and mentally vulnerable because they know they can get away with it and I guess it makes them feel “better” to make fun of us. But even with ALL THAT it’s STILL WAYYY better than having to go to Huntsville hospital. At least HERE you have a choice on getting personal clothing rather than the stupid paper clothes from the hospital.
My experience this place was amazing, really really really amazing, very kind, funny, supportive staff, just fantastic overall. This place really really helped me. Shoutout to miss Jayla, Daryl, Holly, Mary, Dawn, Miss Lydia, Teach, Mrs.D, Queen, Aaron, just the entire staff, most amazing people I have ever ever met. THANK YOU. EVERYONE DESERVES A RAISE GIVE IT TO EM!
