My son was admitted through the ER and we have now been here for several days, and unfortunately this has been one of the most difficult hospital experiences I’ve ever had. During the day, we regularly go 6 to 8 hours without seeing a nurse. His IV fluids and feeding tube feeds run out and are not replaced until much later in the day or even at shift change. This place is an absolute joke. The total lack of resources is a travesty. The doctors and nursing staff do not talk to each other, and orders are not maintained consistently. And they do not listen to the concerns or input of the families, despite working with children who cannot fully accurately describe their own symptoms or medical history. Drive to Atlanta or Charleston.

We love CHOG! Why aren’t all the people with good experiences leaving reviews?! Cuz there are good people working there who want to HELP! We have a son who is special needs and throughout the first year of his life we have stayed or visited pretty much every floor in the children’s hospital. They have been exceptional to us from the NICU to the ER and outpatient too. They’ve cared for us in the PICU and on the floor and have always gone out of their way to care for our needs. There’s nothing worse than crying the whole drive home because of how the doctor chose to dismiss my son’s illness. He’s already complex care, and this ER doctor Deborah Huang said “well I don’t know what you want me to do for him.” My heart sunk, and I was enraged with anger. I came here for help and she could care less. The nurses, however, we’re all wonderful!
