I wish I could review Dr. Weiss personally, but I never got the chance to meet him. In my opinion, the office staff is UNPROFESSIONAL and INCONSIDERATE 1. no continuity of care (never saw doctor or someone from office as promised in the hospital after delivery) 2. bad experience with front office - unprofessional mistakes 3. poor advice with lack of explanation from office visit (nurse)
We have been taking our two boys to Dr. Weiss for at least 6 years and now bring our newest son. Our family can not say enough nice things about the staff, Dr. Weiss and his wife, Diane. They are a blessing, a big thank you to Rose who we have adored from day 1! With having 3 kids, I am pretty much in weekly contact with the staff. Our family had a very poor experience at Weiss Pediatrics. We have been a part of the practice for about 3 years after moving to Sarasota and just recently had nurse Stacie cause us to want to leave the practice entirely. The staff puts the needs of their patients LAST, and their patients are kids. After voicing my concerns neither Dr. Weiss nor the office manager called to follow up with me. I'm leaving with a very sour taste in my mouth. Wish we hadn't stumbled upon this pediatrician's office when we landed in Sarasota...
Dr. Weiss, bottom line, is really not a very nice person. The office staff, however, is very friendly, but horribly disorganized. The have billed us, accidentally, when we were not even there, several times. Dr. Weiss, on more than one occasion, accused my children of faking their symptoms to get out of going to school. One time, we ended up at urgent care where my child was possitively diagnosed with strep throat, after being told that there was nothing wrong with her. Two visits was more than enough for me here, and I’m regretting every recommendation I have given them. After being told that if I refused the chickenpox vaccine that my 12 month son would no longer be accepted as a patient here, the “newbie” nurse who apparently doesn’t get double checked when administering vaccines, gave my son a double dose of the vaccine, and the called us “because they had to”. Insurance coverages changes required we seek a new pediatrician. Dr. Weiss was highly recommended. Despite the web site statement "all new patients from babies to young adults" the Office Manager refused care to both of our children (ages 7 and 15) due to the age of our oldest child. She then refused to see our younger child due to the "potential conflict" of the two children seeing different physicians. Their policy is they only accept new patients under the age of 10. RecommendedI happen to run into Diane by chance one day. We started talking and I really liked what she had to say. At the time we where not looking to change pedestrians. One day daughter need to see the doctor. Needless to say it didn't work out so well. I called Diane and we where able to come see Dr. Weiss and his team. I am thoroughly satisfied with the care provided to my son at Weiss Pediatric Care. Dr. Weiss, Skylea, Rosemary, Tara, Ali, and the rest of the staff are great. We’ve never left feeling unheard, confused and are encouraged to call on call if my son is sick and we have questions. My son is 15 months and he’s been seen at Weiss Pediatric Care since his first in-office appointment. I am so happy we chose this pediatrician.
