On 8/22/25, I went to the Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC, for a cat scan scheduled for 9:30. I arrived at 9am, checked in and went to the waiting room. There is a sign in the reception area advising patients to let them know if you wait longer than 15 minutes to be taken back for your appointment. At about 9:45, someone came and took me back to draw blood. I have no idea why that was done since I had just had had a complete blood workup done as part of an overall checkup. Worst hospital in the world besides Cannon. Myself and my granddaughter have been misdiagnosed multiple times.They also let me leave with a BP 210/120 and a stroke patient. So yea I would not recommend going there.
First off the staff were super friendly ,no complaints there , but we were there because my husband injured his foot. They did x-rays and said that it was just sprained and he was given no pain medication. We get home from vacation and go the next day for a second opinion because of the swelling and pain and learn that he shattered the calcaneus bone (heel bone) and has to have surgery. I chose Greenway Medical Associates many years ago simply because it was not associated with the hospital. That’s not always a good thing. What could have been life threatening issues on my blood work were overlooked for years. The office is mis-managed in such a way that it is inefficient. Important documents are lost.
