My father fell two stories and crushed his hip in Manassas, VA; he was told he’d never walk again. Dr. Mears rebuilt his hip in 1988 and my dad bikes, swims, and hikes national parks at age 85. Dr. Mears will always be the miracle worker who gave my dad his life back.
Absolutely would recommend anyone to see him! Amazing doctor. Actually cares and listens!
I went for vague all over stiffness and pain. He was able to narrow down a treatment plan to start getting some answers.
Dr. Mears was and is an unforgettable and remarkable experience for me. When I was 20 years old I was in a car pedestrian accident as a student at Penn State. I have no recollection of it but knew from the realization of what happened to me that the compound fracture of my leg would not heal properly, would be deformed, and I was going to lose a couple of inches to my left leg. I’m a Senior woman of an adult daughter who Dr Mears operated on my daughter at, if I recall correctly, Children’s Hospital in Oakland (Pittsburgh, PA), about 47 YEARS AGO, rather early in his career. He is an excellent diagnostic doctor who actually knew the problem my young daughter was experiencing even prior to her being X-rayed!! Dr. Mulholland is great! He makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. He is a straight shooter. He tells you what your situation is, reviews your options and lets you decide how you wish to proceed.
My 1st visit and it was excellent, Dr. Mulholland he has GREAT bed side manner he took the time to listen and examine and help find solutions to my knee problems ordered test. I walked away feeling hopeful..my last doctor took X-rays and while I was standing in the X-ray room he did my examine never looking at my knees besides thru the X-ray.. So my hats off to Dr Mulholland and his staff.
He takes his time. He shows you your X-rays and explains them and tells you what to expect. Does t make you feels rushed.
I had an accident in 1989 and they flew me to Pittsburgh to see Dr. Mears, I broke my femur and knee in several places. Dr. Mears saw me and performed hip and knee surgery and till this day 2025 my knee and hip is doing great. He told me eventually down the line I would need a knee and hip replacement. I just had a hip replacement in 2023, knee still doing great. Thank you Dr. Mears
