Do not buy! I had my Waterfurnace for only 12 years before the coil went bad. The shortest living and overpriced furnace on the market! They don’t stand behind their products and charge ridiculous prices.
RecommendedThis is a tentative recommendation based off of their response after weeks of fighting to get them to cover a defective unit with their warranty. If they would have done it without arguing I would easily be able to recommend them but now I’m very nervous about how the next problem (God forbid) is going to be handled. Hopefully this made them revisit their warranty procedures as they said they would and it’s now better for all of us. Was very excited about this system when we built our home 10 yrs. ago. 4 compressors / 3 control boards & countless service calls & money spent on labor. Many day & nights without air in the HOT summer. Waiting on parts 3-5 days to deliver. Not s fan anymore. This system has not saved any money/ it’s a money pit!!! Have tried multiple times to become dealer or just purchase equipment and have received no calls back from local sales representative or their manager! I manage a larger HVAC company in Fort Wayne Indiana. I even stopped in one day to see if anyone would help and was just told sales manager was not in would have to leave him a voicemail, which I did and received no return call! Poor service!!!!
The “warranty is a big fat lie” and you’ll need it cause their units aren’t so great. I spent $30,000 getting two 5 series units installed. Within several weeks one of the units stopped working. I was told it would come on as the demand was there so I didn’t pursue it. 8 months later, and electric bills of over $1000 for four months, I discovered that the second unit wasn’t working. We purchased a home several years ago because one of its features was a WaterFurnace Geothermal Cooling and Heating Hot Water System. We had understood it to be one of the best. The home was built in 1993. It lasted until December of 2016. We of course replaced it with another WaterFurnace System.. The total installation was $15,000. Expensive yes, but we felt comfortable with their 10 year warranty certificate if something happened. We have a service contract with an authorized company to check it twice a year.
