There is no way I would ever recommend this place. I had surgery last year and the nurse tried twice to give a saddle block and missed. I was then put under general anesthesia. When I came out the nurse asked if I wanted something to drink so I asked for water. She never once said to drink slowly and as soon as it hit my stomach I started vomiting and was sick until around 8 that night. When I asked for something I was given spoiled milk and stale crackers. The nurses and dr's were amazing ! Mrs.crystal in the ER was top notch! She truly cared and went over and beyond to make my uncle comfortable and gave him the proper care he deserved! He was moved upstairs to ICU and Mrs. McKenzie was outstanding as well. She took time to listen and understand our concerns ! You all rock ! Thank you for all that you do ! You're truly appreciated!

My husband of 52 years, who died at WMC in October, spent many weeks of his life in hospitals because of an inherited genetic disorder. Watauga Medical Center stands out as the best of the best: aggressive with treatment, skillful, kind, caring, proactive, smart, communicative, and finally, spectacular comfort care by everyone involved from the docs to the nursing staff and respiratory therapists, when all options for recovery were exhausted. As one with a lot of experience, I cannot speak highly enough for WMC.
