I don’t understand why on a morning like this one, when we are dealing with gale force winds, and all of the trash and recycling carts are laid over with their contents flying across the neighborhoods and towns, the drivers can’t take the extra 30 seconds to hop out and un-bungee the cart. They raised my bill $12! Why????
Waste Connections does not know how to treat their customers. For two weeks in a row everyone’s trash on my block has been picked up except for my house. When I call in the excuse is that there were too many cars and the truck could not get through. If that is the case then why is my neighbors trash picked up and they are right next to each other??? One of their trucks with an unsecured load dropped trash and debris on the highway breaking our windshield. When we called they said they have over 100 trucks and couldn't say for certain which truck it was. I am paying for my own windshield replacement and will advise others to not use a company that will not take care of its liabilities or accept responsibility for their damages.
I have used Waste Connections for 3 and half years. They have been very disappointing. After speaking with Melanie about not receiving current invoices and her not being able to give me a straight answer with little to no customer service I then asked for a manager. Tiffany, the manager, I spoke with was very cold and monotone with absolutely no customer service skills as well. I guess no surprise. I forgot to pay our bill (my bad) so they didn’t pick up our trash one week. I paid it that same week on a Thursday when I realized. Monday rolls around.. trash day again and my bill has been paid since last week.. they STILL DONT TAKE MY TRASH. I call and have them tell me it takes 24 business hours and my trash will go on the schedule for next week. RecommendedUntil recently I have had great, consistent service. These trash containers should have been emptied yesterday. When I called this morning they said the driver had truck issues (even though they hit everyone around us) and would have it picked up today. 6:00pm Wednesday and still not picked up! What’s going on?!
I called and paid nearly $100 prorated, last week. I was told that my trash day was Thursday and to have my trash out by 6am on Thursday. My trash has been sitting in the curb since Wednesday. When my trash was not picked up on the day I was told, I called the next day, Friday. They rep apologized and said she scheduled a pick for that day and that my trash would be picked up Friday. Worst company for prices, service, and customer care. Everytime I've had an issue with their company or with service, their customer care always manages to make it an error on my part. Paynents take excessivly long to process and they don't work with the customer at all. I will be looking into alternatives for waste disposal and I think the City of Derby really needs to do so as a whole.
