The most alarming part of our experience is this: if we had not been present and actively advocating, I do not believe my dad would have received the monitoring and attention he needed. Patients should never require a family member in the room just to ensure basic follow-up care is being done.. This ranged from the ER nurses to 4S nurses. MAP department at Washington Hospital. My first encounter with MAP personnel was exceptional. Thanks to the two employees who introduced me to hospital protocol, expectations and consequences of upcoming surgery, ad infinitum. Melinda, RN and Ms. Shelby worked in sync with each other , thus making patient orientation less stressful, but also hopeful re surgical consequences. This place seems to be hit or miss for my family and depends on the doctor/procedure.
Took care of my mom in a bad way for two weeks no surgery just milk her then she had heart cath done then I had her shipped to Upmc Shady Side Pittsburgh hospital during the NFL drift now my mom had surgery high hernia was high risk they knew this didn't have the doc to do it or staff felt safe helping my mom just let her suffer with tube down her nose through her throat to stomach no food for two weeks shame on you people, thank you Shady Side hospital of Pittsburgh saved my mom from suffering now she is coming home in four... read more
I had a hip replacement from Dr. Ravasio. I can't walk without pain in my hip and I have nerve damage in my foot that has not gone away in over a year. This Dr. Ravasio screwed up my life and he didn't even care when I talked to him. He told me," it's out of my hands now" , see another Dr. Total loser as a hip replacement Dr. I shouldn't have had him as a hip replacement Dr. I regret this surgery.
