UPMC washington receives national recognition for stoke care… tell me why mother went to this hospital with stroke symptoms and the hospital said she just had high blood sugar and sent her home. She arrived home to collapse outside of her vehicle… from a stroke!!!! The stroke was so severe she died a few weeks later. Not sure why this atrocious hospital received this recognition. This hospital should be shut down due to incompetence.
This is a solid hospital. We came for a scheduled appointment for our kids and they were great! Moved us through in a reasonable amount of time which was awesome. Great spot
The most alarming part of our experience is this: if we had not been present and actively advocating, I do not believe my dad would have received the monitoring and attention he needed. Patients should never require a family member in the room just to ensure basic follow-up care is being done.. This ranged from the ER nurses to 4S nurses. We left feeling unsafe, unheard, and worried about the level of care being provided. MAP department at Washington Hospital. My first encounter with MAP personnel was exceptional. Thanks to the two employees who introduced me to hospital protocol, expectations and consequences of upcoming surgery, ad infinitum. Melinda, RN and Ms. Shelby worked in sync with each other , thus making patient orientation less stressful, but also hopeful re surgical consequences.
