Dr. Walling scheduled a telemedicine appt. with me during the pandemic. After a full session of sharing, he informed me that he would not be my therapist. I was shocked and felt that he took my appt just to bill insurance for nothing other than having listened to me and offering nothing back. Full disclosure of his intent would have been best at the beginning instead of just wasting my time and billing my insurance company. No compassion whatsoever. Do not waste your time.
Not sure about scheduling urgent appointments or what other doctor is covering his patients when he's not there, but the office staff seem happy to answer any questions I've had about billing, etc. The wait times differ, from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. It is hard to compare psychiatrists because so much depends on how you click with their personality.
I have just completed my 4th med check up with Dr. Walling and am really pleased with my medications and him. He really listened and adjusted great. Staff and office nice.
Dr Walling: epitome of a hoped-for psychiatrist. Office staff is accommodating, courteous and discreet; arranging appointments that can fit my schedule. Waiting room times are brief, honor our schedule. The doc is fully focused on MY issues, aware of ME personally and MY history. Kind, approachable, trustworthy but never patronizing or judgmental. He listens, never rushes, and comes to health-saving decisions and therapy courses, including appropriate medications, if necessary. Just the best!
Can’t care less for patients even when paged in a life-threatening emergency. 48 hrs without responding when he’s the only one who can fix his own prescription errors (forgot to write the strength needed for the drugstore to fill the prescription) is unacceptable, not to say extremely unprofessional.
When we really had exhausted all options Dr. Walling was recommended. I’m not sure why we did not see him sooner. He is insightful and changed our son’s life and now we are comfortable in his future. Also, Dr. Walling is incredibly respectful of appoint times which really is important to us.
I've never been so disappointed in the lack of care/professionalism as I have before dealing V Walling. I recently called his offices to go see him before the year is over to restart medication with NO response for over 3 weeks. I've never had a Dr flat out ignore his patients needs in this manner. His receptionist coldly said they've left messages for him, he has not responded yet now today is his last day of the year seeing patients. I'll be finding a new doctor that cares. Dr Walling does not
My son was admitted to the hospital and was found to be bi-polar. After he was home we had a recommendation to see Dr. Walling. Dr. Walling was the ONLY doctor to identify that he was on too much medication. Dr. Walling reduced and changed his medication and the results for the last year have been wonderful; without his insight I don't know what we would have done.
He has been seeing my daughter for over 10 years and has been a very knowledgeable and supportive doctor.. The relationship he established with her and treatment that he's given her has helped her tremendously.
