StPtFoodies Sure am glad we didn't let the other reviews influence our decision to go there, we had a great time. Don't understand the comments about it being too expensive, pretty similar to other fine dining places/prices in the area. We're from St Pt & wanted to try something different, we really enjoyed the food & if you save room - order a Irish Coffee & sit by the fireplace! Glad we made the hike, we'll be back.
Scam Tried this place several times thru the years and won't go back. The restaurant can be empty and the owner/host/bartender will make you sit at the bar before being shown a table. We don't drink. When we objected to going to the bar he said we had to wait for the table to be set-up. I don't know what needed to be done as they all appeared to be set? We went to the bar and ordered diet sodas. Twilight Zone Horrific experience. My wife and I were about to enter the dining room when we were "intercepted" by the "host." We asked to be seated but were told "we're extremely busy. We could seat you but no one would wait on you." My wife pointed out that only two of the dozen or so tables were filled but that made not difference to our "host." Excellent - Worth every penny! The Wagon Wheel Supper Club's Babyback Ribs were excellent (Danish Babyback Ribs) - fall off the bone, finger-licking good! My husband ordered the "Butterball for One", (he thought he was ordering poultry, but it was actually an extra large center-cut tenderloin Black Angus steak. The Chef grilled it on an open charcoal grill, which we viewed from the Dining Room) - it was so tender, he could have used his butter knife. Expensive This restaurant is very EXPENSIVE. I would not recommend it unless you have money to burn. I would never go back, once was enough. The staff are okay, nothing spectacular and the food is average.
