The iconic Wagner's Pharmacy dates back to the year 1922. Found on South 4th Street, it was set up by Leo Wagner who purchased the erstwhile Hagen's Pharmacy. Wagner was employed at Hagen's from his early teenage days. The pharmacy/inn had a humble start as a neighborhood venue frequented by budding writers and jockeys. Great “old school” diner type place to eat. Sit at a table or the counter. Good food and lots of old pictures of the horses.

Haven't been to Wagner's for about 10 to 15 years. Big mistake. Had breakfast there this morning and enjoyed every bit of it. And it didn't appear I was the only one. The whole time we were there, there was a constant stream of people going in and out. The waitresses stayed busy. I had a typical breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, and potatoes. My wife had pancakes and bacon. We both enjoyed our meals, although my wife said the pancake, although good, was a bit thicker than she liked. Overall, the visit was a success.
