She changed my life..Before I met her I went to doctors who fed me nothing but drugs that made me sick. The medication she gave me changed my life, I have never felt better,and she genuinely cares about me. I recommend her to anyone. She is very intuitive and helpful. I love her!
She did a very good job of prescribing various medications and adjusting doses (for anxiety/depression) until we settled on a combination that's done an excellent job. In hindsight, I'm surprised that several previous psychiatrists didn't show the same persistence.
She is very concerned with ensuring that her patients are taking safe, effective medication along with providing insightful advice for there conditions. Since I have been seeing her my outlook on life has turned around fully

I've been seeing Dr. Wachtel for about 8 years. I had been treated on and off for depression for many years before I went to her. It was Dr. Wachtel who diagnosed my bipolar disorder, which turned out to be one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. I came to Dr. Wachtel more than a year ago and was immediately impressed by her professional demeanor, medical knowledge and attention to me as a person - not a patient. She cares about your issues, provides feedback, and is diligent about keeping a close tab on you if she prescribes medicine - a very important hallmark for a psychiatric practitioner in what is a crowded medical practice in Manhattan.
