Recently I went to a private party at Votum. It was a six courses with wine and music to match. Nathan choose the wines and music. Chef Sarah out did herself the food was beautiful to see and each dish more fantastic to admire and eat. I strongly recommend if you are in the Hood River to try and get a reservation for a meal you will not forget!
Absolutely fantastic and could not recommend more. The Votum is a must visit restaurant if you are in the area. The perfect level of attentitiveness of the staff (spearheaded by Nathan) and Chef Sarah's masterful dishes were the absolute highlight of my day. This is the best meal I’ve had in hood river. Expensive, but really thoughtfully prepared. We did the 9 course tasting menu with the wine pairing. I highly highly recommend it. The pairing was exceptional. Honestly it was the best pairing of unusual wines with the courses I’ve had. The glass of water I was first served had visible particles and oily spots floating on the surface. I showed it to the staff and they replaced it, but it wasn't a great first impression. The fish dish also contained several tiny bones. Since the fish was served in very small pieces, I wasn't expecting bones and almost swallowed one.
