Love my hair!!!!! – I went to this salon for the first time and I loved my stylist!! She cut and colored my hair exactly the way I wanted it and was great fun to talk to. I have had problems finding somebody that can do exactly what I want but Shannon did it!!! The color looks great and I have had tons of compliments on my cut. Very stylish! Did I mention I went to her because somebody else (at another salon) butchered my hair so she had to fix it?? She definitely turned my frown upside down!!
untrained staff, unknowledgable, self-satisfied – Had a facial, am now recuperating. My face will heal, though it is abraded and peeling. The technician has no concept of sensitive skin needs, certainly not the overheated towels and hard scrubbing that she gave, including the triumphant announcement that, although I'd told her I have sensitive skin, she'd used regular cleanser, and also a greasy lotion, which melted and ran into my eyes when I encountered the sun, sending me home to wash the stuff off and medicate my eyes. Love my Stylist! – Von Kekel opened their new store in the Six Fork's area.. love it! My stylist was relocted here and I was in dire need for a touch up and cut. I love the new salon and that juice bar was just pefect to relax at while Rae worked her magic. I've had my nails, brows, hair and body massages all done at Von Kekel's and will never go elsewhere for my salon needs.
3 Strikes and youre out! – I went in to get a hair cut and highlight done. The hair cut was good, but the highlights were horrible! Wrong color, I asked for red they turned out blond/brown, and they were only on the first 1/3 of my hair! It wasn't noticeable! The second time I went, they highlights were all the way down, but again wrong color! I asked for red, and got blotchy! you mean there's wine?!? – i went on a busy day and you could tell the receptionist had to multi-task several things at once, but as soon as i walked up she acknowledged me immediately, letting me know she would be right with me. she offered me complimentary pastries from panera, tea, bottled water, or wine....i had the wine! all the employees were extremely friendly and laid back. i felt comfortable joking around with them and just overall having a good time.
Wish I had read the reveiws here first – Went in and said keep the length, feather out at the ears, take off a little at the bottom of the back, keep it soft and loose. She gave me a short tight all over layered cut that I could have gotten at the cheaper places if I had wanted that. Took off all the hair I had taken six months to grow out. Apparently they think all over 50 women with grey hair should look alike with little tight layered cuts with no personality. I paid $60 freaking dollars for that--never again! VIVA VON KEKEL'S – I'VE BEEN GOING TO SHAWN FOR QUITE SOME TIME.... I HAVE MY HAIR CUT, COLORED AND WHEN NEEDED RETOUCHED.... THE RESULTS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN OUTSTANDING ! MANY TIMES I HAVE BEEN APPROACHED BY WOMEN ASKING WHERE I HAVE MY HAIR STYLED AND COLORED - HUGE COMPLIMENT TO ME AS WELL AS TO SHAWN KEKEL. EXPENSIVE MISTAKE – The stylist put the wrong color on my hair, even though I had my formula written down. To fix it, they said they would bleach and recolor it. I declined since I didn't want to damage my hair. Nobody would admit that a mistake had been made, but I have wedding photos to prove it. The manager and owner were rude and focused on placing blame. WANDA AND MOLLY ARE THE BEST!!! :-) – I just had my first experience at VK salon this past Friday. They are by FAR the best Aveda Concepts Salon that I have ever been to. Wanda did my hair and it HONESTLY has looked the best that it has ever looked. Molly did my eyebrows and she did an awesome job. Both of them actually took the time to ask me what I wanted and gave suggestions as well. Good thing I ran into Wanda at Ulta that day! :-) I would highly recommend this salon to anyone.
