Dr.Voelzke poorly communicated risks with my fiancée. He was often busy, visits were rushed and my fiancée was not treated with the urgency required for a patient in her position. While this is not the only reason she passed away, it’s fair to question the role it played in her passing as we learned more about her cancer in the 2 weeks she was at Duke than the year she was at VCI. Great doctor. Spends as much time as I need to explain test results and treatment plans.
Dr Voelske is very thorough and very patient. He anticipated all my questions and answered them with great sensitivity. I appreciated his honesty and his willingness to make sure that I understood the entire process. I count myself as very fortunate to have had him as my lead physician during a very difficult illness.
He is quick to get the visit over, and go to the next patient. He is not knowledgeable enough about my cancer. He thinks everything is funny and does not take the problem serious. My Lymphoma is not funny and now that it has returned his attitude is not kind. Some of the staff was very nice but I need a Doctor that understands the stress a Patient goes through.
