Cold Food - Bad Service – When I eat out I hate wasting money. This place served us cold food and the waiter really was not on top of anything. I have been there before and experienced the same thing. Since the manager is the owner, I would guess that nothing will ever change until it is sold or goes out of business. We certainly will not eat there again. I prefer to have hot food that is good. I cannot get that at this place

Absolutely Horrible – I will say, on all my tours as a connoisseur of fine southern food, this was the most unpleasant experience I’ve encountered. Melting oil based cheese product over undercooked macaroni, stuffing a piece of chopped "steak" thinner than a Krystal patty between an inch of low-grade breading, deep frying it and calling it country fried steak, and the ever glorious ice cream ball of mashed potatoes covered in watery gravy shows an unseen level of ignorance to what southern food is about. The only thing that ... read more

Excellent service and food – I don't think goloth actually went to Vittles when they wrote their review. They mentioned waiting for their credit card to be returned to them when they paid and Vittles doesn't do that. You pay at the register. That being said, I would highly recommend this restaurant for service, quality of food, portions and value. I've yet to have a meal there that I didn't like and they have always been prompt and friendly. Their selection of entrees and sides is outstanding. There's something for everyone ... read more

If not for the food this place would fail on all accounts – After reading of the high praise in some of the reviews I decided to visit this restaurant for the first time; What a mistake that was. 1. From the beginning the hostess was rude, not even looking up when asking how many were in our party, two, she proceeded to drop menus on the table, and collected rolled flatware from another table. 2. 10-15 minutes elapsed before the server finally arrived and took our drink order. 3. We were finally able to place our meal order ... read more

amazingly affordable!!! – my family and i were very pleased with the price & quality of the food, not to mention the positive attitude of the workers. its in a nice part of town, and plenty of parking. another thing we liked is the fact that it was open early, 7:00 am. (which is good, when your hungry, at breakfast-time) if the LORD is willing, and im still alive, i'll be back!

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – Brentwood meat-and-three serves basic greasy spoon fare inside the Maryland Farms office park.

Highly recommend – I really like this restaurant. It is unassuming, peaceful, and family-oriented. The food is good home-cooked meals. Yes, no fancy flair, but that's just fine. If you want to pay for fancy, go somewhere else. The prices are excellent and the food is plentiful. I haven't had a bad meal ... nothing greasy ... nothing a disappointment. I'm sorry that some reviewers have had disappointing visits ... This restaurant's name itself should tell you that it's basic, home-cooked meals without charging for the frills.... read more

VITTLES – I'm glad I didn't read some of these reviews before I ate there last September, 2003! The food is good, prices fair! The atmosphere outside the restaurant is the same as with others around town!! My food was not greasy or too salty! I don't consider Vittles a wannabe Cracker Barrel!! July 6th, 2005 Im appalled at some of the remarks several people have made here. If they don't like the food there they should just eat at home and have their usual frozen meal!! They obviously have taste buds that aren't working prope... read more

I'll be driving 700 miles for this !!! – Ignore the pompous foodies and the fools comparing this down home cooking to Cracker Barrel ! I'm a NYer and, although I'm not opposed to spending $300 for dinner for 2 for insanely phenomenal food, this place ranks in the top 10 for places I've eaten on the road ! The pot roast on homemade white bread was simple, well seasoned, absolutely delicious ! I discovered this place on my last day in Brentwood after a 10 day stay on business. had it been sooner, I'd have eaten nothing but for... read more
