I just donated my 250th platelet donation this evening, March 4, 2026. All of the Westminster staff are wonderful, friendly, and caring toward each donor. They even awarded me a certificate of appreciation for reaching this milestone. I'm committed to continuing to donate as there is always an urgent need for all blood products, but especially platelets which have a 5-day shelf life necessary for cancer patients facing surgery. Always nice staff and easy process. Its just cold. Bring a jacket
I had never donated before but needed to because my blood is to thick. I had a 3:30 P.M. appointment . The tech that took my blood was really good. He was nice and pleasant. The young woman at the front desk and I didn't get her name but she has short red hair. She was very pleasant and helpful. She was easy to talk to and explained things very well. The entire process only took about 45 minutes and that included waiting for the fifteen minutes after I was done giving the blood.
They don’t like my blood type so they wouldn’t let me donate the double red I wanted .. told to go elsewhere i’m A positive
