Spoke with Jennifer from Acton VA, she listened to my inquiries with kindness and compassion. Her knowledge about the care of my friends particular disability and how it should be handled was very helpful.
After 1 week of services, 6 days, I can say these “angels” are awesome. I have nothing negative to say about any of the providers. The family member they serviced has advanced dementia and they did a wonderful job caring for him.
The caregivers were wonderful but the administrative staff was rude and completely lacked the compassion you’d hope for from an agency that works with families in very difficult situations. I was berated for asking which caregiver was on duty the one time I asked and again for not immediately calling the office to cancel services when my mother was in emergency surgery. We switched to Always There Homecare and they were much better.
My second experience with Visiting Angels of Acton left me with a septic tank backup into my basement while I was on a business trip outside of the country. The caregiver flushed handwipes down the toilet and caused a clog. It cost me close to $500.00 from Rooter Man. The caregiver said, "They asked me if I flushed handwipes down the toilet and I said "No." Well, the empty handwipes package was on the floor, next to the toilet. As a contemporary that provides homecare, I highly recommend the Acton office because of their management. Tony, Karen, and Amanda are always willing to help and send information when needed. They are also well liked among the community and are very involved in the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. Visiting Angels of Acton is a well respected place of business.
