Bad maintenance caused injury One weekday morning while I was on the treadmill, without prior warning, all the treadmills stopped. My back sustained a violent jolt resulting in sudden mild lower back pain. I heard a man who was on another treadmill yelling in anger about the equipment malfunction. Living Social I purchased a Living Social deal a few months ago at a steal.. $10 for 5 weeks and 5 free sessions with a trainer! I have to admit I've really enjoyed using this club. After my 5 weeks were up I joined the club and even though I had already done 5 workouts they offered me the 2 free sessions you get when you become a member. They know my name?! This is definitely a place all the locals hangout! It's like Cheer's but not a bar... this is a gym where everyone knows your name!! I enjoy the fact that the employees like to get to know you not just as a member but as a person. What?! This club has the best deals in town. If you are not only in the Southend but the Northend often this is a great club to join. It's $19 per month to use any club anytime. I typically use the Tacoma club but when I travel up North I am able to use the Lake City facility (used to be Mieko's) which I was really excited to find out!! Biggest Loser I have been overweight my whole life and finally something in me changed this year... maybe it was watching all those weight loss shows on tv or just a realization that I want to actually live my life. Great place Even though I am an avid basketball guy I actually really enjoy this gym. Its affordable and the people are really nice. Initially I was looking for a gym with a basketball court but after searching around I realized that I needed to get away from the court and actually do a workout. So far I am really enjoying this club and I immediately took advantage of the 2 free workouts so I could learn some new things.
Biggest Loser The other night I went to Tacoma's Biggest Loser kick off. It was amazing to see so many dedicated individules who are looking to change their lives like I am. It made me feel good to know that I am not alone in my journey. I have been a member at Vision Quest for a few months and through the bootcamp and first biggest loser competition I've really made some great friends. Mma The MMA class here that Calvin teaches is such a great class. There aren't very many girls in the class but I feel that it is teaching me a lot and I hope more girls will see how much fun it is and get started too!! This class isn't just about fighting like most would think it's about technique, flexability, and disapline. I am so greatful for the wonderful staff here. If it weren't for them I would never have known how much I love MMA. Come check it out if you are looking for a new type of workout it's fantastic!!
