This review speaks to my experience with the Virginia Mason Ophthalmology Department. Over the years, my entire family has seen Dr. Park, Dr. Mendoza and Dr. Chen, and we have always, unerringly, received excellent care. Personally I've had gradually more problems with my eyesight due to aging and complexities that can come with extreme nearsightedness, cataracts, and aging. Virginia Mason in Issaquah is very convenient for people living in downtown Issaquah and the surrounding area. My primary care physician is located there. They also have a lab and mammogram imaging (with very skilled staff). I have had excellent care there. The facility is small, so if you need a specialist, you may have to go to another location.
I've always been treated wonderfully by the staff of VM clinics - this is about contacting them and making appointments. Issaquah no longer has a direct local number, the phone branching system is partially broken, and I sat on hold for 30 minutes before giving up this morning. (I called again and requested an auto-callback - so far it's been another 45 minutes and still no callback.) I would leave zero stars if possible. They harassed a patient over a service dog then the doctor dismissed mental health concerns regarding SI and tried to redirect to the yearly physical which then also was not fully completed. Patient relations does not answer or call back. This is not how care should be provided and any ask for help especially regarding SI should not be dismissed.
