Business response:
Thanks for the recommendation, Denise!
I do! But not emergency: My back went out 2 weeks ago, it’s gotten so bad I had to go to emergency at Virginia Mason downtown Seattle, early this morning signing in at 2:38am. I was told it would be less than a 2 hour wait. I explained my back is so bad now that the left kidney area is swollen and cannot get into the specialist until Tuesday. I am in chronic pain where sitting and standing is the worst. Everyone who came in after me from 2:40-5am were all substance abusers, only one seemed bad, others were quiet and function... read more

The following is a review I have posted across social media regarding Dr. Michael Campbell. While Dr. Campbell is currently employed at UC Davis, I understand that he completed part of his medical training at Virginia Mason. I regret that my surgeon, Dr. Michael Campbell, did not put as much time and effort into my post-op care as he put into selling his skills and UCD's merits at my pre-op. I now have to go to elsewhere for cancer-care (including routine ultrasounds) becau...Continue Reading

Hi Melissa, we are very sorry to hear about your experience with a physician at another institution, and we have passed along your feedback to our Graduate Medical Education Department. If you would like to talk with us more about our GME program, we invite you to contact us at (206) 583-6079.
Virginia Mason does not provide adequate care. Particularly the urgent care of federal way whose doctor’s closed early because “their brains were tired” even though UC was supposed to be open for hours longer. Three patients being seen does not a busy evening make. Astoundingly bad.
Business response:
Hi Harper, we are sorry about your experience. We would encourage you to call us at (206) 223-6616 if you would like to share more details. We appreciate your feedback even though we clearly fell short of meeting the standards of service we set for ourselves.
Sometimes they don’t seem too accommodating to out of town patients.
Business response:
Hi Dale, thank you for your recommendation. We would love to learn more about your experience, and would encourage you to call us at (206) 223-6616 to learn how we can do better in accommodating all our patients, including those who come to us from out of the Puget Sound region.
Dr Chawla hasn’t been very caring and does minimal care of my health concerns. I have great insurance thru work! She is very controlling about what she does. She barely will fill my meds. I have gone there for 30 years and was extremely happy until I got transferred to her.
Business response:

Thanks for the kind words, Cindy! :)
5 phone calls and not one person has called me back in regards to my sleep study that I’ve had. Why have you guys gotten so not patient friendly ? I’ve been going to Virginia Mason for over 25 years ??? Almost my entire life and for the past 4 years the level of care standard has dropped substantially. Apparently one of their staff members is writing things on my profile that I never authorized or requested. After this, you’ve lost a life long patient. Shame on all of you.
Business response:
Hi Rich, we are sorry about the poor service you've experienced and we would hate to lose you as a lifelong patient of ours. We've forwarded this feedback to our Patient Relations team, and would encourage you to call this number: 206-223-6616. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
