Extremely long wait (2 hours) for a short line. The line is in an active parking garage. We had our toddler with us which made this location an even bigger a safety issue. I had specifically emailed and asked if this was a drive through location prior to making a reservation and was told it was, so that was extra frustrating on top of the wait. Line inside the parking garage on Tuesday afternoon looked short, maybe 10 small groups of people ... then after 15 minutes I realized it had not moved an inch. People at the front of the (short!) line said they had been there for 2 hours. Organizer with a clipboard explained that it was not just a swab, it was a full appointment with vitals, chart and "provider visit." To bill your insurer or HRSA more, obviously. Waited over an hour in line, to go from 9 people in front of me to 7 and then decided to leave. No clue why the wait since they were doing appointment only. There was no communication about why a 15 second swab was taking over 25 minutes a person when we had already given our insurance info online and filled out forms while standing in line. I know it’s a busy time, lots of understaffing and tough couple years, but Emergent was WAY faster this past weekend.
I’ve now been standing in the parking lot for an hour and not even near the testing site AND this is NOT free, they are charging my insurance. These tests are approx $250-300 a pop, pls tell me why am I waiting? Makes no sense and you need an appt ? NOPE GTFOH
