Fantastic Stylist -- highly recommended – I have been a customer of the stylist Angela for years -- I was referred to her when she was working in LA, and I have yet to find a another stylist/colorist who does as good a job. As owner and stylist for over 25 years it is difficult for me to see a "bad" review online when I know the quality of work a stylist is capable of. Neither the stylist, nor myself, can continue to grow if we do not know when there is a problem. AND YES FOLKS we can miss the mark...just like any other profession. BUT, we cannot make it right if clients do not voice their concerns directly to us.The salon is only as successful as the people who work there. This salon is nothing without its diverse, talented and dedicated team.
great color and cut – I had an amazing haircut and color done by a stylist named Angela. She was not only friendly but listened to everything I had to say. With me not knowing how to explain things Angela sure knew what I wanted. I left feeling great and knowing that I now have a great stylist to go back to. Thank you Vine st. salon
Disappointing experience – I went to Vine St. based on a recommendation from a friend who is quite happy with her stylist. I was cut and colored by Angela, twice. The first time the cut was ok, not the best but not terrible either. The color was darker than I would have liked but I could cope. I have been having my hair colored for years and sometimes it takes a couple of visits to get it right. The second time was not a good experience for me. since we have had a problem that was not bought directly to our attention.As owner of the salon it is important to make sure each and every client is satisfied...period. When the salon has a problem with a service we want to know.It would be great to be able to correct the problem before it is broadcasted to the internet. The client is not wrong here. Fantastic service, wonderful atmosphere – The staff at Vine Street are fabulous. Ingrid really listened to what I wanted and made suggestions that turned out really awesome. I love my haircut and color! The salon itself had a great atmosphere. With a lovely view on the second floor in North Berkeley, it looked fresh and natural and extremely professional. The best haircut I've had in 4 years in the bay area. I will definitely go back.
Pampering yourself for a great price – I recently moved to Berkeley and have yet to find a salon or a stylist. I decided to do a search and came upon citysearch's Best 10 list. Vine Street Salon jumped out at me because it was in Berkeley and it came with great deals which as a student, I am always on the lookout for. Awesome – I was recommended to a stylist named Ingrid through one of my friends. I have always just bounced around to salons and never really had a bad expirence but never a great expirence. She did an amazing job! I had no clue what I wanted when I walked in and she took the time to talk to me and recommend different ideas of cuts and colors that would completment me but also go along with my lifestyle. Come in looking hot, walk out looking hotter – I didnt know what to exppect when going to Vine street, after reading positive and negative reviews about it. I have gone to many different chains of salons before and didnt like the way they did my hair, or how they handled it. My hair is long and thick so I was a bit anxious to see how they'd manage it at Vine Street. My stylist, Dawn, did a great job, and totally won me over.
