My son married a Long Island girl last October and we were trying to organize the Rehearsal Dinner on Shelter Island from Texas. Several months of research, calling, comparing quotes and making the tough (sight-unseen) decision for venue between all of the options resulted in choosing the Vine Street Cafe. We had another fantastic dinner tonight always a great place to go back for good food. Will be back soon
Took my wife for our anniversary and the meal was great! The shrimp cocktail was out of the world and the chef's choice cheese plate was superb. The entrees were equally nicely prepared. To top it off, they went out of their way to spell out Happy Anniversary in choclate on our desert plate. For sure we will be back.
Best food on the island, hands down. A bit pricy and the apps aren't for sharing but everything we had was very tasty.
A lovely (if a bit pricey) place on Shelter Island, true bistro food beautifully prepared. The only drawback is that it costs $40 for the round trip on the ferry to get there from the North Fork, and back.
