I just have to compliment my vet and his staff - Dr. Prothman, Village Veterinary Clinic of Mt. Gilead. I expected to have Toby, my 8 year old beagle, unaffectionately taken from me and placed in a cold kennel until it was time for his surgery. But, Dr. Prothman was SOOO compassionate. Toby was extremely nervous - and Mommy wasn't much better. (Years ago, my late husband's beloved family dog died while having her teeth cleaned- so that's been burdening me for many years.) Dr. Prothman is fantastic. He cared for our last two cats with a gentle hand. He has our trust and after our 17yr old cats passed on he will be entrusted with the care of our new kitten. Glad he & his staff are here in Mt. Gilead.
Compassionate and trustworthy. I run dog sleds with my Sibes and he is amazing. We form a good partnership to ensure the health of my team and my fur kids. Love this vet!
Very thorough with my 4 1/2 week old pups, met me at the car and scheduled a necessary surgery immediately for 2 of my shih tzu pups at a very affordable price!
Kudos to Dr.Prothman for the excellent care our 9 wk old puppy received on Sunday, due to an unexpected emergency !! You always give the detail info we need to hear, good or bad !! I take all my fur babies to Dr. Prothman and his staff. They are very caring and its shows he cares for all his animal clients. Best vet around. I would recommend him every time.
Dr. James Prothman was kind enough to meet my husband & I at the office with our very sick Libby on a Saturday evening. He was very kind, upfront on what was wrong with Libby and gave us our options. I personally did not think our Libby would last a week but Dr. Prothman gave us a medication to try on Libby and told us that the med could help her or there was a chance she wouldn't make it depending on how advanced her disease is.
