Had PA-C Sharon Mertins for an online appointment and am thankful to get to see her in person, in 2 weeks for a follow up. She is kind, straightforward and easy to talk to.
I was seen telephonically 12/17 telephonically for the first time with the arrowhead office. I chose telephonic because I was suffering with flu symptoms including a fever and UTI symptoms. The PA Sharon Mertins was 40 minutes late, no apology and then when I explained my symptoms of UTI she wanted me to come drop a urine sample off. I explained that I am symptomatic running a fever and have been in the medical field since 2012 so I know what UTI symptoms are like. She still said I had to come into the clinic. Went here for a sinus infection/inflammation and got asked by the doctor "what do you want me to do about it?" in an extremely snarky tone after I described my symptoms. I don't know, aren't you the doctor? Isn't that your job? I'm here for medical advice and help, not to be treated like some simpleton.
I'm not happy, got dismissed for a UTI ONLY TO BE CALLED A FEW DAYS LATER to tell me my infection is REAL and antibiotic resistant to the meds, fine... new RX sent but STILL NO BETTER so I called clinic just to be told they are BUSY! I NOT IN THE POSTION for them to be busy and at least take my call, just to be told to go to the ER!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS, I JUST NEED ANTIBIOTICS THAT WILLLLL WORK! THAT'S NOT THAT HARD
The office was super clean and nice, front office woman was nice and helpful. The assistant who took me back was nice as well, but the Doctor I saw was not fantastic. I don’t think she smiled once. She only listened to certain concerns that I had about my sickness and wasn’t going to prescribe me eye drops until I said something. And Doctor Amy’s response was, “well that might be overkill, but sure we can do drops,” when I clear as day had conjunctivitis. Maybe if she had even looked at my eyes, she would have known.
