I always passed by this Resturant on the way home and wanted to check it out. On line was only rated at 3.5 but I loved the menu and photos. Finally had a chance to go there yesterday. Open Sunday through Thursday 4pm to 9pm. Got there at 355 pm to be first in line. Hostess entered locked door at 4pm. We waited outside and they did not open. Finally called at 415pm on the phone from just outside and she said they don't open until 5pm and hung up. Wtw !! Rude, poor customer service, wrong info on sign. What a shame.
Nice neighborhood "old time"Italian restaurant. Served al la carte or full dinner, (salad,soup,small pasta,entee,ice cream & coffee) Service was prompt and friendly, not overbearing. Dinners were locals and whose been eating here for many years. Prices resonable considering this is SF. Lets hope owners keep it this way rather than turning it into another Millennial destiation.
Dropped in on Father's Day. What a little find! We were warmly welcomed and given a lovely table for two by the window. We ordered from the Father's Day Brunch menu. We were given glasses of champagne, a plate of fresh fruit and a plate of corn muffins w/ butter and jam to start. My husband ordered the Petrale Sole Dore and I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. BOTH delicious. The Cherries Jubilee we split for dessert was good but not exceptional. The staff was warm and very accomodating. We will definitely return.
The food was great! And the owner was our server. Such a great guy! Everything went perfect. Easy 5 star.

At this point it feels like I'm coming to visit dear friends! Have been dining here since the Oropeza Family took over in the 1980s!! Great food and service! Love the Art Deco fixtures/decor. Easy street parking (metered) or walk 1-2 blocks and park for free in the residential area. Full bar. Credit cards accepted. Open for lunch/dinner/ Sunday brunch.
