I wouldn't go to Gelson's for weekly shopping. It's just too expensive, and you can get pretty close to the quality at a good Ralph's or Pavillions. But when you are having a special dinner, or you are looking for a particularly hard to find vegetable, this Gelson's on Ventura is a sure bet. Their salad bar is genius, their prepared deli food is SO good. The fish, produce and meet are outstanding, they have a good selection of flowers, and an excellent bakery.
