Been training here for over half a decade now. Beyond being an exceptional powerlifting gym (Eleiko bar, calibrated kilo plates, combo racks) the community here is unreal. What can seem scary at first, like chalk dust, people shouting encouragement, loud music when someone goes for a personal best, very quickly revealed to be a bunch of supportive and welcoming people. Here’s to Jason - the owner of Victoria Barbell! I spent the weekend with Jason at the Special Olympics’ BC Summer Games! Jason is the Assistant Coach for the Powerlifting Team who just brought home 10 medals!! Jason is an awesome guy who really makes a difference with the athletes, he’s a beast who leads the way! If you want to join the big boys and lift heavy weights with a great coach - Victoria Barbell is where you want to workout!! Support local - support BC Special Olympics!
