Great bartenders, ample seating inside and out, all around a fantastic place
Good old neighborhood hangout. Common ground for vegans and slight carnivores. Their parm fries are always solid. Their cocktails lovingly made. Their burger: ouf- major underwhelm. Seems like a dry Sysco patty and their gluten free bun might be Portland's worst. Look at this photo of how it disintegrated with two bites. Basically their non-vegan food is the inverse of the brown rice and broccoli vegans were offered in the 80s at restaurants.
The sandwiches were not a good value—$18 for a small sandwich with a pickle spear… The Parma sandwich is a grease bomb which lacks crunch… and lacks veg. The V-love was better and had a whole garden full of flavor. Service is at the counter. You bus dishes. And tip suggestions start at 18%. Bar standards I suppose. But this is a lovely hangout spot. I always go to Victoria Bar anticipating to sacrifice the dining experience for the cozy, chic atmosphere. People come to meet up with friends and it’s a nice scene.
