What can I say about Dr. Melgen? Well, let's start off with 9 years ago when I first met hi. and he took me on as an extremely high-risk patient who was a very active heroin addict at the time. Well it turned out that me finding his office and his staff so helpful so understanding and never judgmental. I've been sober now for a little while longer than 4 years. Dr Melgen is very knowledgeable and kind. Staff is amazing. Very sweet and compassionate.
Dr. Melgen has been my oncologist for over six years. He is truly the absolute best Dr. I have ever had. I am definitely not an easy patient to have yet he has never turned his back on me. Over the years I have gotten very close to his employees at both his Lake Mary and Orange City offices. Dr. Melgen has gone way beyond his required duties and responsibilities to help me get help for something that most Dr's would have referred to someone else. I truly owe him my life and sobriety. Amazingly, my PCM recommended this Doctor. The initial visit went well, I was impressed with his attention to detail in note keeping and asking me about my medical history- he prescribed blood thinner - and until this point all seemed well. When I developed a clotting issue post prescription, calls were not returned either to me or to the attending physicians in the ER. Upon my release from the hospital there has been absolutely no follow up available from his office. I've changed doctors.
Rude condescending and egotistical spent more time talking about himself then trying to treat me. Very proud of his TV appearences. Don’t go here!

Very caring, knowledgeable doc and staff. Would highly recommend this doc.
Outrageous Admin & Billing practices Because they never sent in my insurance claim and did not tell me I owed $500 for one visit until 8 mo after the one visit, the insurance co refuses to pay due to their late submission. Now I am paying them a small amt per mo hoping they will get straight with insurance but they refuse to answer my calls or letters and have referred me to a collection agency. I have good credit and this will ruin it. SHAME ON THIS DR AND HIS STAFF. Watch out for POOR ADMIN STAFF
