Dr. Acensao saved my life 26 years ago. I had Stage IV Hodgkins Disease with bone marrow involvment in the ileac crest & hip. He took me as a patient even though I believe all of his other patients were recurrences of breast cancers that required bone marrow transplants which was his research. My cousin, Dr. Alan Kelley asked for Dr. A's help with my case. Even though I was not in his research subjects category & he did his work pro bono since I had no insurance. I had to visit the hospital for a physical. The staff, the patients, and visitors all were very nice to me and several people asked me if I needed help (which I did). I had people stop me in the hallway and ask if I needed directions or help with a wheelchair (I didnn't) The only issue I had was with a rude audio technician who claimed that I was faking the hearing test. I'm sorry VA but if you have burned out employees then they need another job away from paitients.
