This used to be my go-to before seeing a show at the Ahmanson. They have a great happy hour menu BUT we went last night & very "unhappy" to discover they randomly reduce happy hours on the whim of the owner, according to mgmt. Total greed. Several of the happy hour food items are on the dinner menu but at much higher prices. And the employees informed us that it clearly states on the happy hour menu, "hours & menu subject to change". It's a solid option. It will get very busy on theater/concert evenings. Excellent happy hour for the area and opens earlier than neighboring competitors. But the bar tender can get swamped so happy hour bar service can be a bit slow around 5 or 6.
This was at least our fifth time dining at Vespaio (a great place for a pre or post performance meal). One of our entrees was a bit slow coming out (we were slightly concerned due to curtain time approaching) and before we could say a word, Elizabeth was at our table making apologies, ensuring that the entrée would be right out, and offering options and solutions in her kind, professional, and efficient manner. Will not go back. No vibe. No pleasantries.
Museum go-er who really needed some coffee. The hostess at the restaurant was lovely. She shared about the cafe section of the place (in the back of the restaurant) since that was what we needed. You can get sandwiches, pizza, drinks, dessert, etc. To-Go or sit-in. Sebastian made an excellent Cortado. Shared a lovely carrot cake.
