Worth the Price – My wife is off the boat from Italy and for 14 years I have told everyone the only place to get good Italian food was my house; well no more. Dinner was fabulous and our server Chris was fantastic! The noise level was typical for a place where people are enjoying the food and company they are with. 5 stars in our book.
GREAT PLACE – My wife and I travel a lot to places like NYC, Italy, and France. In our culinary experiences, we both agree, this is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere, not just Austin. Outstanding quality of ingredients, preparation, and service. Combine this with a very comfortable atmosphere and I don't know what else you could ask for. I rarely take time to write reviews like this but this place deserves some sticking up for. It's places like this that make living in Austin such a pleasure for us.
hhatley – Vespaio is open on Mondays! This website doesn't say it, but it is. Mondays aren't terribly busy, so I recommend going there on Mondays if you don't want to wait for too long!
good food & fun – when i got there, i was VERY angry that i had to wait two hours to get a table (it was my birthday night!)...but then as soon as we were seated and had one of their appetizers, i KNEW we were in for at treat. and i was right! this place has been open for 3 years and is STILL going strong. this place is a must!
Romantic Evening – This is not a casual date spot. It is, however, perfect for romancing the one you adore. I took my girlfriend there on her birthday and she now lists it as one of her favorites.
Authentic with flare – Being a native Itialian, when i moved to Austin i imediately looked for a good interpretation of italian food. I searched and searched, and frankly, everything was really, really bad...Until I was told about Vespaio. As soon as I walked in I saw the freshly made mozarella, I knew it was going to be good. They offer a great interpretation of the authentic NORTHERN italian cuisine. The southern cuisine is generally what you'll find at the Olive Garden. Vespaio is great and good.
A gem in the Austin restaurant scene – Food is creative and exciting. Service is attentive and helpful. This is truly a dining pleasure offering something to everyone! This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Austin.
Wow! That's Italian! – After living in St. Louis and Chicago for all of my life, I immediately craved tasty Italian food when I moved to Austin. Vespaio definitely fits the bill. Knowledgable staff, great ambience, reasonably priced wine list, and fantastic, fresh, innovative dishes make this my favorite restaurant in town! A must try in Austin. Just get there early on the weekends, or be prepared to wait. Enjoy!
Vespaio is Italian for "Beehive" – This restaurant is a dream come true for the owners. How do I know? One of them is my cousin! He put his heart into making a dream into a reality and Austin loves it. I live in Dallas and take every opportunity to drive friends down there to have an elegant evening with fine cuisine made entirely from scratch.
