Good wines, average food – The wine selection was excellent, but unfortunately the dishes were mediocore at best. Nice atmosphere and the hostess(es) were a charm. The same could not be said about the waiter. Unfriendly lout.
romantic, sexy, fun, intimate – i love this place! i've been here with my wife, alone and with good friends and each time have had a wonderful time. the staff is pleasant, friendly and nonintrusive. the food is very good and the wine list wonderful. it is a favorite of mine. get reservations!
Insider tips – Some reviewers have complained of hurried service. Venticello definitely gets crowded on the weekend but the trick is to get a later seating around 8:30-9:00. You can take your time and stick around until they lock up.
Nice setting, average food – My wife and I have dined at Venticello 5 times. Each time the hostess has been a model of courtesy. The dining area is reminiscent of a charming Tuscan trattoria, though a bit noisy and crowded. Service is slow, especially as the evening progresses. The food is inconsistent. The pancetta wrapped prawns are delicious and the carpaccio is very good.
