I stayed at the Venezia several times in 2021, 2022, and 2023 and genuinely loved it. Great Miami Beach location, charming dark Gatsby-like rooms, and a cute rooftop. Unfortunately, by my August 2025 stay, the property felt unrecognizable. I’ve seen the reviews about mildew, and they’re not entirely wrong. No hot water, no room service / cleaning. Mystery stains dripping down the mirrors and on furniture. Calcium buildup in the bathroom so intense it hasn't been decalcified in years. I did actually enjoy listening to other guests fight in the hallways drunk at 1am but otherwise the hot water and trash in my room + not cleaned was really bad.
I am currently staying at this hotel, and I strongly advise you not to stay here. At first glance, the room appears clean, but it’s actually quite dirty. I found several small bugs in the bathroom. It wasn’t an infestation, but even a few bugs are completely unacceptable. As soon as you walk into the hotel, you’re hit with an overpowering smell—a strange mix of different chemicals. If I could give this property zero stars, I would. The moment we entered the room, we were hit with a strong moldy, musty odor. The air felt damp and heavy, and although there was a dehumidifier running, it was ineffective. As we unpacked, we found small German cockroaches in the closet, dresser drawers, and bathroom. This was by far the worst and most unsafe hotel experience I have ever had. After booking, I immediately noticed that many reviews mentioned mold, mildew, and fungus problems. I contacted the property right away and explained that I was extremely concerned about the health risk and asked them to cancel my reservation.
