Incredible place! We make it a regular stop now between NC and IL. Come early for the burnt ends, before they run out. Love the Mac and cheese too. The place is filled with BBQ trophies that they’ve won. You won’t be disappointed.

This place is quite a delightful find! You don’t expect such good food at a gas station. I had the pulled chicken with mild sauce and bacon cole slaw. It was served with Texas toast. I preferred that to a sandwich. My friends had pulled pork and pulled beef. All were outstanding. I tasted the baked beans and bread pudding, lovely as well. I’ll eat with plastic cutlery on a paper plate any time the food is this good!

My husband and I were looking for something different to do and found this place through Yelp. It took a half hour to get there and I'll drive it again when I'm craving BBQ. We got the burnt ends and brisket as well as a pound of smoked chicken wings. The signature sauce is flavorful and sweet without overpowering the meat. The meat itself was incredibly tender and the brisket fell apart when picking up with a fork. The prices are pretty good. A pound of the chicken wings was $9. The staff was very nice. While driving back from Indianapolis we saw the road sign for Velvet Smoke BBQ and decided to stop. We love local places. OMG. It was DELISH. We shared a 2 meat/2 side entree and were tempted to order another. Will definately talk the hubby into making the 40 minute drive to enjoy it again. Keep up the deliciousness
