I'm very satisfied with Dr. Valanki have been a patient of hers for 7 ? years and she has helped me very much. I'm 67 yrs old with RA and Osteo Arthritis and she has helped very much with both.
She is not the only rheumatologist around. Run!!! There certainly is better!!!!
Dr. Vellanki is abrasive and rude, at best. If you're hoping for someone with any bedside manner this is not the office for you. She has very little patience for listening and constantly interrupts or cuts off your answers. I question if she has any empathy at all after she's brushed off very nonchalantly my nearly pleading for help managing arthritis symptoms. Very rude and unwilling to listen to descriptions of symptoms. She was trying to tell me what I was feeling and she was not correct. When I got frustrated and let her know that, she became very rude and immediately referred me to the Cleveland Clinic but said to see her again in 6 months. I won't be going back!
I had a very bad reaction to an injection from her. The response was, "You signed the form! You signed that you knew a reaction was possible. You knew it could happen." I did know and she & I talked about risks vs benefits and thought risks were worth it. She never asked how I was or recommended going to a hospital. Her main concern was immediately telling me I couldn't sue her rather than helping me through an emergency.
I'be been with Dr. Vellanki for nearly five months now. I am, for the most part, satisfied with Dr. Vellanki herself. She seems knowledgable and I've interacted with far less compassionate medical professionals. Her office staff, on the other hand, is disappointing and sometimes down right rude. I realize I'm complicated medically. Believe me, I wish I wasn't. Every time I contact the nurse or receptionist to ask questions or seek guidance, they seem annoyed. What do they expect?!?
The doctor does not seem to understand what I am trying to ask/say. She tends to interrupt with an answer before hearing the question. Time seems rushed. I feel I have no where to turn to get answers to my questions.
