Traveling up and down the State, the food was truly disappointing.
My husband and I recently went to Vejar's and I first noticed the quality of the tortilla chips. They seemed to be stale but then after a few I could tell they were different from the chips they usually serve. I think they've switched to a cheaper brand and they were horrible. Then we were served our food and at first it seeme fine but as it cooled it had the taste of old cooking oil. Yuck. Vejar's on K is a great place for Mexican Food. We love the Chile Rellenos, rice and beans. We also like the California Burrito. Need to check it out.
Our service was horrible, my mom came in a joined us a few minutes after we were seated and we could not get a waitress to get her a drink nor refill coffee or chips. Then we got our orders after my son and fiance joined us and we ordered. The rellano was spicy but tasted ok but within a few bites we felt too full to eat. Then we were sick all night throwing up and diarreah. Tried to call and number listed does not answer. Will not be back.

I recently visited Vejars on "K" St. expecting good service and decent mexican food; A year ago I could have told anyone that this was a place with great service and the food and drinks to go with it. Now it's a different story, My family, friends and I normally sit in the coctail lounge and enjoy a nice meal with drinks but this time around I guess we were an inconvience for our bartender/ waitress.
