Could Care Less About Wild animals Driving to work today, I saw a little sparrow frantically flapping its wings in the middle of the road, obviously injured. I pulled over and waved my hands in front of car about to run over it. Then I scooped it up and drove with it to the nearest vet, which happened to be this one. It was 8:15, and they did not open until nine, so I left it in pile of leaves and decided to call thm when I got to work. Well, I just called them, and they informed me that they did not take care of wild animal... read more

In response to "Could Care Less" Barbara I am sorry that you had a bad experience with someone on the phone in response to your attempts to save the sparrow- unfortunately Massachusetts state law does not allow every veterinarian to treat wildlife- you legally have to have been granted a special license to do so- that may have been why you were told we dont "see wildlife". what we CAN legally do however- and usually will do- is take the animal in and then transport it ourselves on our own free time to the New England Wildlif... read more

Beware of being overcharged Went there for routine shots. Once it was time to pay, they added on charges for cleaning my cats ears and lab work (that I don't even think they performed) and vitamins that my cat didn't need. I have heard similar things from other pet owners who have visited the VCA, and they are known to try and give your pets additional unnecessary 'care' to increase their fee - similar to a scumbag dentist who will do additional work to your teeth that is not needed.

Emergency Vet The South Shore VCA is one of the worst veternarians I saw when I was trying to get my sick cat treated. Not only did they show no compassion for the animals that they were dealing with, but they didnt explain what was happening to my cat or what my options were. I left their facility feeling like I was taken advantage of and that the staff there were all jerks. I would never bring my cat back there even if it were a medical emergency. There are better animal hospitals in the area that are much kinder to both y... read more

Good experiences I've taken my three cats to the VCA for their annual checkups as well as for visits when they've been ill or injured and I've always been happy with the care received. The doctors are always gentle and compassionate.

Vet in Quincy My best friend takes her dog to this vet all the time. They are pleasant and really good with animals, they have reasonable prices and good office hours, They will try to assist you with a sick pet at home and not make you bring it in that day.
