Taking Care of Your Pets' Needs When our family dog got hit by a car and needed immediate help, we took him here. They took him in right away and made him all better. They children thought they were going to loose their friend, but this hospital helped us get him back safe and sound. They also offer boarding and when we were out of town we'd leave him here and they'd take good care of him. It was like his second home.

Highly Recommend Very flexible, open late, good location (for me). I had an appointment at 6:00pm, but got out of work early and they were able to work me into an earlier appointment at 4:00pm with minimal wait. Staff was very friendly and took care of my animal with care. The vet Dr. Manny was very professional and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend VCA lakewood!

To the anonymous moron Obviously you're an idiot and you realize that or you wouldn't remain anonymous. Yes your dog can get extremely sick from raw meat and bones because they no longer have the capability to digest it. You wanna feed raw meat get a wolf. I bet all your dogs have pancreatitis. They should of charged you a stupidity tax. Don't down a vet because you don't like what they told you.

huh??? First of all, your dog can get a bacterial infection from eating raw meat. Ever hear of e. coli? It is a bacteria specific to the intestinal tract. Second, why would you expect to take your dog to the vet and not get charged. Do you go to your human doctor and expect them to leave off charges because your just kinda sick? I will agree that they are on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. Their quality of medicine is top notch. If you want a vet to cut corners, then go to doc in a box.

My doggy likes it The staff here is friendly and professional. However, it always seems expensive. I guess I keep going because there is not a long wait and my animals seem comfortable with the staff. However, I would recommend going to a cheaper place, like a pet store shot clinic, for routine things like vaccinations. That could save you a lot of money.

EXPENSIVE The staff and the veterinarians are friendly and courteous and it's very close to my house. But they keep going up on their prices!!! I have 3 cats and that could get very expensive. Believe it or not, there are some vets in the area that are cheaper! You just have to shop around, I have.

Not great I've been going to VCA with my cats and dog for over a year now. The staff is friendly and so are the doctors, but it's very expensive and NOT a "neighborhood" type of animal hospital. I haven't been impressed with a certain vet (Gazelle I believe) for many reasons. One, she told me feeding my dog raw meat could give her bacterial infections which dogs cannot get. The canine intestinal tract is too acidic for bacteria and raw meat and bones are the best type of food for your dog in the correct proportions. Two, I f... read more

Quality care, personal service We've been through alot of pets with VCA Lakewood. They've always given us top-notch care and I don't know that I'd take my pets anywhere else even though we've moved out of the neighborhood. There have been a few different vets there during the time we've been using them, but I would recommend Dr. Tucker or Dr. Dunn.
