It's disappointing that patients are expected to be respectful and courteous toward the receptionist, while she frequently fails to extend that same level of professionalism and respect to others. Whether speaking with her over the phone or in person, her manner can be abrupt and unwelcoming. Even my parents, who are the most kind and patient individuals, have found their interactions with her difficult. It’s unfortunate because Dr. Lokanathan and other staff are so kind, makes you wonder if they’re even aware.
I will say first that the Canadian health care system is in crisis! My 93 year old mother, who is in the final stage of life, now has a fractured pelvic ring, and ended up in emerg. They gave her one course of Hydromorphone. After a couple of weeks, she is bent over, in agony. Dr. Lokanathan's office was closed for holidays, so the only option was to get my mom back to emergency. If I could id rate her 0 stars. She is impossible to get ahold of, and she doesnt seem to care much about her patients. My husband has been seeing here for roughly 10 years, and all of a sudden DROPPED him as a patient without any notice. Went to refill script (which is very important) and cant because he is no longer a patient of hers. We found out from pharmacy. No email, no call, NOTHING!
Once upon a time this clinic used to go above and beyond with their care. They used to provide injection kits for trans folk which they abruptly discontinued during covid lockdowns leaving patients without supplies that pharmacy's don't tend to have in stock. She stopped caring about people at that point. Got dropped as a patient without warning after reception refused to cancel a prescription refill when I lost coverage and couldn't pay full price out of pocket. If I could give 0 stars I would. My adult son with autism was seen today in the clinic. She would not allow him to keep me on the phone to help give information. He has issues communicating at times and gets anxious. My son said she had a very uptight demeanor. He had a fever even after taking fever reducing medication and been ill for almost 2 weeks.
