awful business practice – would you believe that this place has no business sense whatsoever. they are a bakery yet they won't take cake orders until august 1st. not to mention when you call to say you want to place an order for CAKES, they tell you to call back the next day to place an order same day! when you do call back, they let you know they don't take cake orders. on their website, no indication anywhere they are not taking cake orders. why have a bakery if you can't fulfill orders? why have a cake menu if you can't m... read more
It's ONLY Ok – I anxiously awaited the opening of Vanilla Bake Shop and finally visited yesterday. The place is very cute and the staff is pleasant; But since this is a bake shop all that really matters is the desserts. I tried a few of the cupcakes...which were only ok...nothing to drool over. These OK cupcakes were the Mom's Birthday Cake, Red Velvet, and Vanilla Bean. Best Cupcake in LA! – I was walking through Santa Monica on Saturday when I came upon Vanilla Bake Shop. It was late in the day and the selection was limited because they had sold out. The counter staff informed me that they had been selling out every day since opening. I was able to purchase a dozen bite sized cupcakes that were spectacular. cute new spot – This is a cute new bakery with pretty good cupcakes. Parking is difficult, but if you do snag a spot, I recommend the toasted coconut cupcake which was my favorite. $5 is kind of high for 3 tiny cupcakes, but they are pretty good. The vanilla was a bit dry, but I have a feeling they will only get better as this place has only been open for less than a week.
Vanilla Bake Shop – What a posh place! It kind of reminds me of Forever 21. Young and hip. Can't wait to try their cupcakes.
Great Sweet Shop! – I recently visited Vanilla Bake Shop this week... Cute place! They have bite size cupcakes, that are 3 for $5 and well worth it! I got a dark chocolate, red velvet, and chocolate vanilla bean. SOO good! I definitely recommend visiting if you are on the west side.
Cupcakes need some work – The store is pretty cute. Maybe my expectations were too high, though. I tried several of the flavors and all of the cupcakes seemed dry. A friend of mine said the same thing about the cupcakes she ate. I prefer my cupcakes a little more moist. The milk chocolate frosting is delicious!! Definitely get a cupcake with that frosting on it. Until I hear that the cupcakes are less dry, I'm gonna stick to Yummy Cupcakes down the street.
A cute new cupcake place – So, I got an email from DailyCandy announcing the grand opening of the Vanilla Bake Shop. I was super excited after viewing their website and could not wait to try them out. So here it is: Overall- Good The cupcakes are moist and delicious. The batter is made to perfection.
