RecommendedThis is our first experience with base housing, and it has been mixed. On the plus side, housing and maintenance staff are very friendly, and almost everything we’ve requested has been taken care of. We have enjoyed living on base. Our house is nice and the atmosphere of the neighborhood is great! The Hunt employees are friendly and Hunt Maintenance have fixed any issues.
I love living on base. It’s not perfect but what rental is? If at anytime I have a maintenance issue they are usually out the day of if not a day or two later. I have had a pretty good experience overall !
This review is for my experience with Vance Family Housing and everyone who works in the housing office at Vance. After living in base housing for three years, I might not agree with all the decisions that Hunt makes for those that choose to live on base, but I feel very lucky for the wonderful people I have had to communicate with within the housing office and maintenance. They are always pleasant, willing to try to help, and upfront with communication.
Love the response time for maintenance orders. The management team is always friendly and welcoming. The events they throw show that they actually care about their residents. Thanks Hunt staff!
I am very disappointed with the service we have received from Vance Family Housing. When we moved to Vance 4 years ago we felt taken care of, then slowly housing has taken away more and more benefits from our service members. Recently hunt has taken away insurance for home owners and it’s costing us renters insurance on top of bah. They do little to no maintenance outside the home, where as they used to do everything. Worst military housing experience ever. Management is terrible. Finally had enough and bought a house off base. Of course, upon move out, despite leaving the house ten times cleaner than when we moved in, they managed to come up with hundreds of dollars in charges. Ridiculous!!! FYI: The five star ratings are from folks who worked or used to work at the housing office.
This has been the worst base housing experience I have ever had. Homes are not maintained well. Housing maintenance office always seems closed. When repairs are made they are half way done. Windows have ice in the middle of the glass during winter. Electric cost have gotten out of control even when watching our usage closely. According to housing the house is well insulated despite ice on windows and large air leaks around windows and doors. Carpets are extremely old and worn. They will charge you for anything they can!
