Dr. Van Dyke is one of the friendliest doctor I seen. I’m very sad for myself that he is retiring but happy for him that after serving Athens for many years, he and his wife can enjoy retirement!
It's a shame that a person would provide a negative review to a physician based on referral requirements that are out of his control. When you see a physician whilel in a family practice and you move out of state for 4 plus years to return and the physician has moved to a specialized practice like endocrinology then He is no longer a family practitioner, but a specialist or endocrinologist for which case a referral is required.
Dr. Van Dyck and his office staff are some of the most difficult endocrinologists I've ever had to deal with. I remember him as a decent man when I saw him for 4+ years while at UGA, but after moving back to GA from Texas they simply will not see me without referral from a regular doctor. Even though I have medical records from both TX and from when I was his patient!! Like he forgot, doesn't care, or is making too much money to take back an old patient.
