Went to Valvoline on Plainfield Avenue in Grand Rapids to get my oil changed. (I usually go to the dealer but it is across town and I didn't have time.) After waiting 45 minutes they told me it would be $95. I said no way and went across the street to @Big Ray's. $36 and no wait. I won't go to Valvoline again. I may be a woman and slightly blonde, but I'm not stupid.
Positively Deplorable Customer Service. I checked the website, asked Google, Called, and even drove to the Business. Everything said you were open till 5 PM on Sunday. There was no notice of you closing early. Not on the Website, not on your Building, not on the phone. I called and the phone rang for a good 5 minutes. They tried to put a new air filter in without us asking we stopped the guy so someone else tried the sell job. Worse part they now have a box the keys must go into for safety. They took my husband's keys I still has mine. What a joke real safe.
As someone who has always gone to and actual shop or done oil changes himself this place is not terrible. A huge amount of up-selling but I'd expect that. Kinda wish there was a 6qrt special since most new vehicles require 5+ quarts of oil now. Hard to swallow $73 just for a 6qrt synthetic oil change when I'm used to doing my self with small shop pricing.
They lied to me and told me I had two brake lights out when I only had one. They were hoping to sell me an $11 brake light and a second one at 1/2 off. However you can buy both bulbs at a parts store for less than $5. The manager made no offer to try and solve the problem. All he did was say sorry. That's the trouble I get for getting a $60 oil change when my mechanic only charges $28. Never again.
Always come here, I love it! The guys are always super nice and helpful.
