Endless frustration and delay, incompetent nurses, oh so lazy and lippy. I left after 90 minutes. I will go back later and see if there are different people on duty that might be able to take a simple x-ray.

Walked in for care bc there is NO urgent care here. 3 hours later I walked out without seeing a doctor, no pain management or reasonable explanation for the mishandling of my treatment. Xrays were ordered 2 hours prior to me getting them and AFTER sitting in chairs, I took it upon myself to inquire what was going on with my care. The VA often wonders why Veterans only show up to the ER when desperate and this is a classic reason why. Systems are in place to have accountability in care and yet there is none. I am very thankful for the staff at the VA emergency department and direct observation unit. I came in on a Saturday morning with swelling in my arm. I did not have to wait long for any of the initial tests (blood, ultrasound, CT scan). The doctors and nurses checked in frequently and were very kind and helpful. Once I was moved up to the DOU, I received more wonderful care. I'm glad to know that I have access to good medical care in San Diego.
