Facilitators of white supremacy do not deserve respect
Very disappointed in the choice to cancel Black History Month events for an alt-right rally being held in Red Square today. Disgusted by the admistration and Embarrassed to say I attended this university. Shame on y’all!
Once again, liberal institutions fail to prevent the rise of, and system capture by, fascists. And at the same time, the administration fails to protect Black people and organizations.That UW would withdraw support for Black History Month events in order that racists might rally under the guise of a prayer meeting is beyond shameful. The "deplorables" hold establishment power; those hosting the rally deserve a stronger and more precise word: fascists.
Hosting racists & Nazis to speak on campus as a sign of "equality" and "exchange of ideas" is pretty disgusting. Doing it during this month (black history month) and cancelling black history events in favor of Nazis speaking is supporting aggression against people of color and reveals a lot about the lack of options the current administration has.
Let us be clear. UW is a leading university. It should try acting like one.
The UW board of regent is racist. This is unacceptable.
Forcing black history month events to be cancelled so that they won't conflict with the hate rally? per what i am reading .... "President Cauce’s administration has been working with the campus GOP for a month to plan an event that is considered to be unsafe for Black students to be near. As a result, a #BlackHistoryMonth event for Washington state Black students, Young, Gifted and Black, has been cancelled. To ensure the GOP event can go on."
The UW is WORLD CLASS UNIVERSITY with faculty who are warm and welcoming,with wonderful facilities
Avoid the Masters in Business Analytics like it was the plague. UW had a great reputation but this program is low quality. Applied Project (20% of credits) is a scam. A waste of money.
